If your child is younger than 7 years of age, he/she must be accompanied by a paying adult in the water for all programs except swim lessons. A child younger than 7 who can pass a proficiency test may pay the daily fee and swim without a parent in the water. To pass the proficiency test, the child must be able to swim across the pool and back using a good arm stroke (not dogpaddling) and float on his/her back for 30 seconds and tread water for 30 seconds. The child must show this proficiency to the lifeguard on duty, even if he/she has passed the test before. Once the child has passed the test, the parent or supervising adult needs to stay in the spectator area for supervision and safety.
